Welcome to Sanctuary Power Yoga

This yoga is for every-body, regardless of your prior experience with yoga, sports or the gym. Come as you are, practice with where you are. Whether you come for the workout, the sacred space, your body or your spirit - whatever brings you here, leave feeling connected. To yourself, to others & to the universe. At Sanctuary, we believe that when we practice yoga we find that we are more alike than different. Sanctuary is founded on the idea of building community through yoga. We strive to be the change that we want to see in the world today - one breath, one body, at a time.


Class Descriptions

For your first class, please arrive about 15 minutes early to sign-in & get situated.  Although you can pre-register for class through our website, it is NOT required.
If you have purchased a Groupon, you will not be able to pre-register until you redeem your Groupon in the studio - simply bring your Groupon with you for your first class (a hard copy or on your phone)


All Levels Heated: This is our signature, power yoga class.  Baptiste influenced, it's strong & challenging, with an emphasis on compassion & mindfulness. When you get in the flow, it becomes what yoga is meant to be...meditation in motion.  Suitable for students of all levels - beginners to seasoned yogis. Enjoy modifications & variations with which you are comfortable.


Slow Flow Unheated: A slower, gentler flow that still encorporates many of the poses from our traditional power class. A slower pace allows for more time to learn alignment while still building strength & increasing flexibility. This class is unheated & music is played.

Slow Flow Unheated with Guided Meditation: Our slow flow class, with the added bonus of a guided meditation at the end of each class.

How do I start?
You just need to take that first step into the studio. Whether you are a brand new beginner or seasoned yogi, truly you can come to any of our classes. Pace yourself, practice at your level, rest when needed.
You don't need to be "flexible" or have "done yoga" before. If you have them, bring a mat, towel & water. If not, we rent mats & towels & sell water. Wear comfortable clothes that you would wear for a work-out & be prepared to sweat. For your first class, arrive about 15 minutes early to get settled in.

Please note that Franklin St will be closed from Main St to Volkman Lane June 1st-Sept 1st.  You WILL still be able to access Franklin St from East Main St via Volkman Lane, Center St & Willow St.  Parking IS permitted in the large lot marked "O'Connors Public House" - you can also park on the street, and in the new Municipal lot on Franklin.

Location & Parking
We are located on East Main St, in Downtown Torrington, CT on the 3rd floor over Reibman's & Les Beaux Vous.  Our entrance is in the back of the building at 23 Franklin St.  Parking is available on the streets around the studio, as well as in the municipal lot next to the Library & the lot of the 99 Restaurant.
